2018 Phone Calls
The Vail Public Safety Communications Center handled a total of 122,280 calls or an average of 10,296 phone calls per month in Eagle County during 2018. 911 calls (24,080) accounted for 19.6% of the Center’s call volume. Nationally, there is a target answer time for 95% of all 911 calls to be answered within 15 seconds.
In 2018, the Center answered 97.02% of all 911 calls in less than 10 seconds. Further, 99.74% of all 911 calls received were answered within 20 seconds.
2018 Calls for Service
Calls for service include all calls built into the agency's Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. Many calls for service are not initiated by a telephone call, but could be traffic stops, parking complaints and other calls that are initiated by a first responder in the field.
In 2018, the center handled 126,417 calls for service, averaging 347 calls for service for our user agencies daily.
